Minor League Physical Therapist

About the role

As a Minor League Physical Therapist – DR, you will provide rehabilitation services, injury‑prevention programs, and recovery strategies for Minor League players in the Dominican Republic. You will work closely with athletic trainers, team physicians, and strength‑and‑conditioning staff to optimize player health and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation programs for injured players.
• Perform movement assessments and corrective exercise programming to prevent injuries.
• Collaborate with athletic trainers, team physicians, and performance staff.
• Utilize manual therapy techniques and therapeutic modalities to enhance recovery.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with MLB and team health protocols.
• Educate players on best practices for recovery, mobility, and injury prevention.
• Assist with on‑field and athletic training room support before, during, and after games.
• Report injury updates and rehabilitation progress to the Assistant Director of Athletic Training and Rehabilitation.

Required profile

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) required.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of employment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in sports physical therapy, preferably in professional or collegiate baseball.
• Experience working with high‑performance athletes in rehabilitation and injury prevention.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
• Willingness to travel extensively during the season.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MLB Electronic Medical Record System (AthleteRMS).
• Knowledge of physical therapy, rehabilitation, and injury‑prevention techniques.
• Experience with movement assessments, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercise prescription.
• Familiarity with MLB and MiLB health and safety regulations.
