International Scout, DR

About the role

The International Scout, DR is responsible for identifying and evaluating amateur baseball talent in the Dominican Republic. Working closely with the international scouting leadership, the scout provides detailed assessments of players' current abilities and future potential as Major League players.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate prospects' baseball and physical capabilities following organizational guidelines.
• Oversee all baseball‑related scouting activities within the assigned territory.
• Communicate regularly with international scouting leadership about players of interest.
• Develop and maintain relationships with agents, families, trainers, and showcase programs.
• Conduct background and makeup evaluations of players.
• Plan and organize workouts for department leadership to assess players.
• Combine live scouting, video review, data, and technology to strengthen player assessments.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years experience in professional baseball as a player, front‑office staff, scout, or development academy.
• Proven ability to evaluate amateur or professional talent and project future performance.
• Working knowledge of baseball data and technology tools.
• Experience interacting professionally with scouts, agents, trainers, players, and front‑office personnel.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, strong communicator, active, quick‑thinking, and able to protect confidential information.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
