Forward Deployed Engineer (Python + AI) - Remote Latin America

About the role

FullStack is an AI-native engineering partner that builds software teams for companies and delivers custom AI solutions. It is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (Python + AI) to work remotely in Latin America. The engineer embeds with an enterprise client's team, finds the work that truly warrants AI, architects and builds the system, and stays until it survives production. The role is a three-way mix of consultant, operator and engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Run discovery workshops with business, data and engineering stakeholders, uncover business and personal drivers and surface constraints early
• Map processes and turn them into specifications that people and AI systems can follow
• Design agentic systems with emphasis on context and retrieval architecture (data sourcing, chunking, embeddings, hybrid search, reranking, knowledge graphs, orchestration, MCP/tool integration, guardrails, human-in-the-loop checkpoints)
• Build working systems such as agents, retrieval services, evaluation tooling and data flows, and prototype value quickly
• Own CI/CD, including prompt and context versioning and eval suites that gate releases
• Operate after launch: eval harnesses, retrieval metrics, observability, cost and latency management, drift, and handoff to the client team
• Present and defend decisions to CTOs, VPs of Engineering and business leaders, and support pre-sales scoping and proposals

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• At least one shipped agentic AI solution, LLM workflow or RAG architecture in production
• Advanced English and a four-year college degree
• Experience leading client-facing discovery calls and taking full end-to-end ownership of features
• Agile/Scrum experience and work on large, complex systems
• Must be authorized to work in the country of the posting on a full-time basis; no visa sponsorship

Required skills

• Core proficiency in Python (or TypeScript/Node.js)
• Hands-on use of AI developer tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini CLI or OpenAI Codex
• RESTful APIs, microservices or event-driven architectures
• Agentic systems with LangGraph, LangChain, n8n, MCP or direct LLM APIs
• CI/CD pipelines
• Strong plus: production AI operations, prompt and eval regression testing, regulated environments, pre-sales support, process mining, client enablement
