Encargado/a de Auditoría Externa

About the role

SM & Asocs is seeking an experienced external audit professional to lead full-cycle audit engagements for a diverse client base. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing financial statement audits while managing a portfolio of assignments from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Plan audit engagements: prepare memoranda, schedules, hour budgets, and risk assessments.
• Lead field work and personally handle the most complex audit areas.
• Document the audit file in accordance with ISA 230 and review team workpapers.
• Prepare financial statements, accompanying notes, auditor’s report, and recommendation letters.
• Present audit findings to client management.
• Assign, instruct, and supervise auxiliary staff within your portfolio.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Auditing.
• 3–5 years of external audit experience on financial statements, preferably in a public accounting firm.
• In‑depth knowledge of International Standards on Auditing (ISA) and full IFRS as well as IFRS for SMEs.
• Proven track record leading field work.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with electronic workpapers.
• Membership in the Dominican Institute of Public Accountants (ICPARD) obtained or in process (desired).
