Elixir Backend Engineer – Remote (Latin America)

About the role

FullStackFullStack is seeking an experienced Elixir Backend Engineer to join client teams on flexible, project‑based work. You will work remotely from anywhere in Latin America, collaborating daily with designers and engineers to deliver high‑quality backend solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs using Elixir and the Phoenix framework.
• Integrate third‑party services and ensure reliable connectivity.
• Build and support backend services that power mobile applications (React Native).
• Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL, Ecto) to create efficient data models.
• Maintain and improve legacy codebases, enhancing reliability and maintainability.
• Implement automated testing and continuous integration/delivery pipelines.
• Utilize containerization (Docker) and modern CI/CD workflows.
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams and contribute to code libraries as needed.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven production experience with Elixir and Phoenix.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Completed four‑year college degree.
• Strong background in API design, relational databases, and backend services for mobile apps.
