Director of Security & Safety

About the role

The Director of Security & Safety will lead the pre‑opening strategy and ongoing security operations for Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia. This senior position is responsible for creating a safe environment for guests, residents, and employees while upholding Four Seasons standards and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive security, safety, and risk‑management programs for the resort.
• Establish security policies, procedures, and emergency response protocols aligned with Four Seasons standards.
• Recruit, train, mentor and manage a high‑performing security team.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures to protect guests, assets and reputation.
• Oversee physical security operations, including access control, surveillance, investigations and incident management.
• Collaborate with resort leadership to ensure safety throughout pre‑opening and operational phases.
• Build and maintain relationships with local law enforcement, emergency services and government authorities.
• Lead crisis management, emergency preparedness, business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
• Monitor security trends, threats and regulatory changes to keep the resort compliant and proactive.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading security operations in luxury hospitality or similar high‑profile environments.
• Demonstrated success in pre‑opening security planning and team building.
• Strong knowledge of local security regulations and ability to work with authorities.
• Excellent leadership, communication and decision‑making skills under pressure.
