Director of Security

About the role

The Director of Security will lead the pre‑opening security strategy for Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia. This senior leader will design and implement comprehensive security, safety and risk‑management programs that align with Four Seasons standards and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the pre‑opening security plan, including policies, procedures and emergency response protocols.
• Recruit, train, mentor and manage a high‑performing security team.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures to protect guests, employees, assets and brand reputation.
• Oversee all physical security operations such as access control, surveillance systems, investigations and incident management.
• Collaborate with resort leadership to ensure a safe environment throughout pre‑opening and ongoing operations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local law enforcement, emergency services and government authorities.
• Lead crisis management, emergency preparedness, business continuity and disaster‑recovery planning.
• Monitor security trends, threats and regulatory changes to keep the resort compliant and proactive.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in security leadership, preferably within luxury hospitality or large‑scale pre‑opening projects.
• Deep knowledge of security standards, risk assessment methodologies and emergency response planning.
• Strong ability to recruit, develop and lead multidisciplinary security teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with a track record of effective collaboration with local authorities.
• Demonstrated capability to manage crisis situations and ensure business continuity.
