Business Intelligence Technician

About the role

Eaton's Business Intelligence, Data Management and Analytics team is looking for a technician to support its roadmap for strategic use of data. The role combines technical skills and creative problem solving to build data management solutions that enable faster, more accurate decisions, and leads BPI events covering data collection, management and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Streamline how departments and team members use applications, technology and practices to collect, analyse and present data, and proactively improve data quality.
• Provide maintenance and technical support for homegrown systems in O365 (e.g. material request and replenishment systems).
• Support Power BI reports such as Programa Kaizen y Sugerencia, Action Tracker, Allocation Tracker, ECO's Report, Project Portfolio Report and Haina Load Performance Report.
• Support MAPICS users with business processes such as creating MOs under deviation, extracting data from MAPICS and receiving breakers by warranty.
• Support finance reports from the MAPICS AA environment and derive, interpret and communicate data analysis results through visualisation, custom applications or storytelling.
• Work with business stakeholders and engineering teams, understand data analysis methods including statistical modelling, and use machine learning, data mining and big data techniques.
• Provide work estimates, take part in design and implementation reviews, and execute agile work plans.

Required profile

• University student with 90% of credits completed in engineering-related areas.
• 2 years of technical or administrative support in related areas.
• Preferred: 1 year designing data management solutions or 1 year of practical data science experience with MS Excel, Power BI and Power Query; experience in production projects or small teams.

Required skills

• Experience designing and training models, integrating data from different systems and cleaning data.
• Windows and O365 platform.
• Data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau or PyQtGraph.
• Ability to write complex, optimised queries and basic SQL for large datasets.
• Basic understanding of relational and non-relational databases, and of Power Apps, Azure and their data storage options.
• Experience using MAPICS.
