AI Developer (Remote, Santiago de los Caballeros)

About the role

Blacksmith Agency is adding an AI automation layer to its operations and is hiring an AI Developer. This is a builder role, not a research role: you will build production systems on top of existing models, working directly with engineering and delivery leadership to turn a documented roadmap of automation workflows into shipped, working systems. The position is remote and open to Latin America and South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Build agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs, including tool use and function calling.
• Develop internal tools that cut manual hours across the design and development production process.
• Set up automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and the internal CMS.
• Implement MCP server integrations as part of the broader AI stack.

Required profile

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.
