Accounting Specialist

About the role

Ziler connects Dominican talent with U.S. businesses and is recruiting an Accounting Specialist to support one of its U.S.-based clients. The role covers day-to-day accounting operations, accurate financial records and reliable accounting information, with close collaboration with business leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day general ledger activities and maintain accurate accounting records
• Record, review and post journal entries and financial transactions in QuickBooks
• Perform bank, account and balance sheet reconciliations
• Classify financial transactions, expenses and supporting documentation
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Monitor records for discrepancies, investigate unusual transactions and recommend corrections
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes
• Prepare and maintain financial statements, accounting schedules and periodic reports
• Assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring and financial reporting
• Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams, and suggest process improvements and stronger internal controls

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Public Accounting or a related field
• At least 2 years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles, journal entries, reconciliations and financial reporting
• Advanced English, written and spoken (B2-C1 or equivalent)
• Nice to have: experience with U.S. companies, AP/AR and month-end closing, financial statement preparation, budgeting and cash flow management
