Técnico(a) de Llantas – Mantenimiento de Equipos Móviles

About the role

The Tire Technician will join the Mobile Equipment Maintenance team at Barrick’s Pueblo Viejo operation. The role ensures that all vehicle tires are inspected, maintained, and repaired to prevent equipment downtime and maintain safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily tire inspections on all vehicles and address any issues promptly.
• Repair tires reported by operators or identified during inspections.
• Evaluate tire condition to schedule replacements and retire damaged tires.
• Maintain workshop tools and equipment, keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Complete daily and monthly activity reports and document work orders.
• Implement ISO 9001‑2008 quality‑management procedures related to tire work.
• Execute tire repairs, installations, rotations, and safety inspections according to established processes.
• Seal punctures using cold patches or rubber plugs and inspect tire casings for defects.
• Support supervisors as needed and ensure safe workshop conditions.

Required profile

• High school diploma (Bachiller) preferred.
• Technical training in automotive or diesel mechanics.
• At least 1 year of maintenance experience, preferably in a mining environment.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on large mining equipment.
• Willingness to work on‑site in the Dominican Republic.
