Supply Chain Associate – Dominican Republic

About the role

The Supply Chain Associate will support the Resource Management Officer and Procurement Logistics Assistant in managing procurement, logistics and asset‑related activities for IOM’s Dominican Republic Country Office.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, consolidate and verify procurement requisition forms against the Purchase Authorisation Matrix.
• Assist supervisors with complex, high‑value purchases, prepare tender documents, solicit bids and conduct bid analysis.
• Coordinate approval, draft purchase orders or contracts and obtain required authorisations.
• Monitor open requisitions, follow up on deliveries and confirm satisfactory delivery notes with receiving units.
• Review vendor invoices, prepare payment requests and liaise with Finance for timely payments.
• Maintain physical and electronic procurement records and produce periodic reports.
• Conduct market surveys, evaluate new suppliers and monitor contractual agreements for renewal.
• Manage office supplies, utilities invoices and coordinate fleet operations, including vehicle scheduling and maintenance.
• Provide training and guidance to junior SCM staff and perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field with at least three years relevant experience, or High School diploma with five years experience.
• Certification in Procurement, Logistics or Supply Chain Management is an advantage.
• Experience in procurement, logistics, vendor management and asset management; familiarity with IOM/UN procurement rules is a plus.
• Fluency in English and Spanish (oral and written); working knowledge of French is desirable.
• Strong computer literacy, excellent communication and negotiation skills.
