Public Finance Officer

About the role

The Public Finance Officer will support the Dominican Republic’s Country Platform for Climate Finance, helping to strengthen institutional capacity and develop a national climate investment pipeline aligned with the country’s NDC and strategic climate frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in establishing and operationalising the Country Platform for Climate Finance.
• Develop and validate the NDC Investment Plan, including costed pipelines and financing timelines.
• Design policy instruments to improve the enabling environment for climate finance.
• Support accreditation readiness of national financial institutions for direct climate finance access.
• Update the GCF Country Programme and facilitate project prioritisation.
• Produce climate scenario models, vulnerability assessments, and feasibility studies.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in finance, economics, public policy or related fields.
• Experience in public finance, climate finance, or investment pipeline development.
• Strong analytical and report‑writing abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government agencies and international donors.
