Occupational Doctor

About the role

The Occupational Doctor will lead the company’s on‑site clinic, providing medical care to employees and ensuring compliance with occupational health regulations. This role combines clinical expertise with program management to protect and promote workforce health.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver primary medical services to employees and refer to hospitals when necessary.
• Purchase medical supplies each month and submit monthly medical reports to the AD Officer.
• Conduct health protection activities, medical surveillance, and occupational health risk assessments.
• Develop and enforce medical protocols, emergency response procedures, and health promotion initiatives.
• Train workers and contractors on occupational health topics.
• Supervise clinic staff, nursing personnel, and external medical service providers.
• Prepare reports, manage clinic budgets, and control operating costs.

Required profile

• Current medical license and a medical degree (MD or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of occupational medicine, industrial hygiene, and Dominican Republic labor and health regulations.
• Experience managing occupational health programs, medical surveillance, and return‑to‑work processes (preferably 2+ years).
• Leadership and people‑management abilities to oversee clinic personnel and external providers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with employees, management, and regulatory agencies.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with medical ethics and data‑privacy standards.
