Movement Control Assistant (UN Support Office)

About the role

The Movement Control Assistant supports cargo and passenger movements for the United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH). Based in Santo Domingo, the role serves as the focal point at Las Americas International Airport and coordinates logistics with the team in Port‑au‑Prince.

Key responsibilities

• Develop passenger and cargo load plans for air and ground transport.
• Coordinate travel for civilians, military personnel, and police forces on mission duties.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, security, and safety measures during loading and transport.
• Handle dangerous goods in accordance with international regulations.
• Liaise with port, immigration, and customs authorities on travel and clearance issues.
• Prepare movement orders, collect movement information, and define requirements.
• Register cargo movement requests and oversee manifests, waivers, and related documentation.
• Arrange customs clearance and related paperwork when required.
• Assist with VIP passenger reception and manage boarding, deplaning, and baggage handling procedures.
• Coordinate with airfield and terminal security to ensure all baggage and cargo are scanned and accounted for.
