Minor League Pitching Coach – Dominican Republic Academy

About the role

The Dominican Republic Academy of the Miami Marlins is seeking a Minor League Pitching Coach to lead the daily development, preparation, and coaching of its pitcher pool. This role works closely with the Director of Pitching and Player Development staff to implement the organization’s pitching philosophy and individualized development plans.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily pitcher development activities, including bullpens, throwing programs, pitch‑design sessions, and game preparation.
• Collaborate with pitching leadership to create, implement, and monitor individualized development plans for each pitcher.
• Apply the Miami Marlins’ organizational pitching philosophy, ensuring consistent terminology and teaching methods.
• Utilize video, pitch‑tracking data, biomechanics tools, and performance metrics to evaluate and develop pitchers.
• Build strong relationships with players, delivering clear, actionable feedback on development goals.
• Assist pitchers with game planning, in‑game evaluation, and identification of improvement areas.
• Coordinate with strength & conditioning, medical, performance science, analytics, and video staff to provide comprehensive support.
• Maintain accurate records of pitcher progress and communicate updates to leadership.
• Foster a positive, professional academy culture that supports young athletes as they begin their professional careers.

Required profile

• Proven experience coaching pitchers at the minor‑league, academy, or comparable level.
• Strong understanding of modern pitching development, biomechanics, and performance analytics.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust with young athletes.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with pitching trends and technology.
