Medical Officer (P-3) – UN Support Office in Haiti

About the role

The United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH) is seeking a Medical Officer (P-3) to provide comprehensive medical support to UN staff operating in the field. Based in Santo Domingo, the incumbent will manage clinical services, occupational health, and medical evacuation coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the focal point for all medical evacuation (medevac) requests in Santo Domingo, liaising with requestors, local authorities, GSF stakeholders, and designated hospitals.
• Develop, update, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for medevac operations in coordination with UNSOH teams.
• Provide day‑to‑day clinical care, emergency response, and referral management for UN personnel.
• Address occupational health issues, ensure quality of clinical services, and follow UN clinical guidelines.
• Liaise with UN‑Military Medical Units, host‑nation facilities, and support business continuity and crisis preparedness plans.
• Deputize for senior medical officers as needed.

Required profile

• Medical degree with valid professional license.
• Experience in clinical practice, emergency care, and occupational health.
• Proven ability to coordinate medical evacuations and develop SOPs.
• Familiarity with UN medical policies and procedures.
• Strong communication skills for liaison with multiple stakeholders.
