Lead Platform Engineer

About the role

EPAM is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to join the Engineering Platform Team of a global automotive services leader. You will drive the design, automation, and security of the developer platform, leveraging AI‑assisted tools to boost productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop reusable GitHub Actions for the organization.
• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
• Lead DevSecOps initiatives, ensuring security, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Establish AI development standards with Claude Code and GitHub Copilot.
• Mentor engineers through architecture guidance, design discussions, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with Product Owner and Scrum Master on planning and delivery.
• Participate in production support and continuous platform improvement.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software or platform engineering experience.
• At least 1 year of proven technical leadership and mentoring.
• Advanced proficiency in Python.
• Strong expertise in AWS and Terraform.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, GitHub Enterprise, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in Infrastructure as Code, Docker, and Linux.
• Competency in DevSecOps, production operations, and security tooling (SonarQube, CodeQL, Veracode).
• Familiarity with PagerDuty for incident response.
• Daily hands‑on experience with Claude Code and/or GitHub Copilot.
• Understanding of prompt engineering, LLM fundamentals, and AI‑assisted development.
• Excellent written documentation skills and English proficiency (B2+).
