HR Support Specialist I

About the role

The HR Support Specialist I provides essential support to core Human Resources functions, acting as a trusted point of contact for employees. The role involves addressing inquiries, guiding staff through HR processes, and coordinating timely resolution of HR‑related issues.

Key responsibilities

• Lead onboarding for new hires, deliver training, prepare New Hire Kits, and ensure completion of documentation and benefit enrollment.
• Support employee relations by communicating HR policies, coaching managers and employees on performance, terminations, harassment, and discrimination matters.
• Administer Ministry of Labor documentation, inactive employee files, labor injury reports, employee contracts, and off‑boarding activities.
• Coordinate corporate and local employee programs such as events, lunch‑and‑learn sessions, recognition programs, health and wellness initiatives, and the ESPP stock purchase plan.
• Serve as the primary contact between employees and benefit carriers, educate associates on benefits, and resolve benefit‑related questions.
• Maintain HR data, confidential files, and generate HR reports and KPI statistics (turnover, overtime, leave, attendance).
• Provide site support including visitor coordination, airport transportation, internal communications, and special HR projects.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of HR processes and employment regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coach managers and employees.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple HR programs and documentation.
• Proactive attitude for coordinating site‑level support and special projects.
