Equipment Maintenance Technician II

About the role

Working under limited supervision, the Equipment Maintenance Technician II performs semi‑routine assignments to maintain and troubleshoot electro‑mechanical manufacturing equipment. The role involves following established procedures while occasionally deviating to resolve problems.

Key responsibilities

• Train and coordinate machine operators or maintenance assistants in equipment maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose non‑functioning electro‑mechanical equipment.
• Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment using layout plans, blueprints, manuals or sketches.
• Use test and diagnostic tools to perform equipment check‑outs and rebuilds.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and document activities.
• Move, install, and calibrate equipment with general and special‑purpose test equipment.
• Source equipment parts as needed and may work overtime or be on‑call.
• Comply with company security policies and perform other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Associate degree in electronics or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 2‑5 years of experience with electro‑mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Basic mathematics and understanding of electronic color codes and safety practices.
• Forklift certification may be required.
• Familiarity with Windows PC applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email) and specialized maintenance tracking programs.

Required skills

• Use of hand tools, leveling instruments, and test/calibration equipment.
• Troubleshooting of IO‑level failures.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, layout plans, and repair manuals.
• Calibration of equipment using general and special‑purpose test equipment.
• Operation of maintenance tracking software.
