Buyer – Center of Excellence

About the role

The SCM Center of Excellence in Santo Domingo is seeking a Buyer to support Eaton manufacturing plants and other Eaton locations across the Americas. The role focuses on operational procurement, ensuring material availability and supplier stability for low to medium‑complexity networks.

Key responsibilities

• Procure direct materials in compliance with plant and corporate regulations (QA, SCM).
• Generate purchase orders (POs) based on demand requirements and coordinate with network schedulers.
• Communicate material requirements, process requisitions, and manage order exceptions (postponement, anticipation, cancellation).
• Resolve internal discrepancies and external supplier issues such as delivery delays, claims, and quality problems.
• Collaborate with logistics partners and suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery according to incoterms.
• Monitor supplier performance (SOTD) and work with category managers on corrective actions.
• Manage supplier invoices, support payment holds, and maintain inventory levels with input from analysts and schedulers.
• Coordinate RMA processes with Supplier Quality and handle reverse logistics.
• Maintain purchasing data (price, lead time, MOQ, sourcing) in collaboration with Data Health and Commodity teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• 1‑3 years of experience in a similar purchasing or procurement role.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of SAP MM.
• Experience with Mapics, Oracle ERP (or Vista).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
