Senior Data Scientist

About the role

Lumenalta is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join its remote, globally distributed team. You will work closely with cross‑functional partners to turn business objectives into predictive models and data‑driven solutions that drive growth and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, engineering and business teams to define goals and translate them into actionable predictive models.
• Design and implement forward‑looking models such as demand forecasting, inventory pre‑positioning, and health/trend monitoring analytics.
• Develop statistical and machine‑learning models, including those that leverage sensor or telemetry data for proactive maintenance.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, correlations and leading indicators.
• Prepare, wrangle and transform data to ensure high‑quality model inputs and outputs.
• Establish best practices for model validation, documentation and presentation to diverse audiences.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical role.
• Strong background in statistics and predictive analytics (time‑series forecasting, regression, classification, anomaly detection).
• Hands‑on experience building, deploying and maintaining statistical or machine‑learning models.
• Proficiency with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Ability to communicate findings to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience with sensor/telemetry/IoT data is a plus, especially in high‑performance automotive contexts.
