Paralegal – Legal Consultant for Financial Markets

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative Paralegal to support the Financial Markets and Products Legal Team of IDB Invest. The role contributes to the development and execution of legal documents for domestic and international transactions across the Latin America and Caribbean region.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and review legal documents related to financial markets, including financing agreements, amendments, and waivers.
• Collaborate with GCL members and external counsel on regulatory, transactional, and institutional matters.
• Maintain model documentation, knowledge‑management tools, and filing systems for both physical and digital records.
• Coordinate procurement of external legal services, track invoices, and manage retainer agreements.
• Support project administration, including notarization, consularization, and monitoring of conditions precedent and subsequent.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• 2–5 years of progressive legal experience, with knowledge of both civil and common law systems.
• Proficiency in English and one additional official Bank language (Spanish, French or Portuguese).
• Eligibility to work in the job location without sponsorship and no close relatives employed by IDB entities.
